{"id":23444,"date":"2019-03-12T17:32:39","date_gmt":"2019-03-12T17:32:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/?p=23444"},"modified":"2019-03-12T17:36:59","modified_gmt":"2019-03-12T17:36:59","slug":"newport-football-club-pitch-damaged-by-vandals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/newport-football-club-pitch-damaged-by-vandals\/","title":{"rendered":"Newport football club pitch damaged by vandals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A football club in Newport are appealing for information after their pitch was damaged by vandals.\u00a0<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Crindau Corries AFC said they are devastated after a 4&#215;4 vehicle drove onto their pitch in the Malpas area, leaving the grass scarred by tyre tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Footage shared on social media shows the car driving across the middle of the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>The club say they pay thousands of pounds a year so that local people can play football and they have little money available for repairs.<\/p>\n<p>The team are currently in third place of their division in the Newport and District League and with two games in hand are hoping to secure the top spot.<\/p>\n<p>They need to use the pitch for both training and matches but the recent damage has ruined any chance of them being able to use the ground.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This just got sent to me and I&#8217;m absolutely devastated what I&#8217;m watching.
