{"id":23951,"date":"2019-11-11T19:50:04","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T19:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/?p=23951"},"modified":"2019-11-13T21:40:55","modified_gmt":"2019-11-13T21:40:55","slug":"welsh-government-launches-new-anti-bullying-guidance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/welsh-government-launches-new-anti-bullying-guidance\/","title":{"rendered":"Welsh Government launches new anti-bullying guidance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Welsh Government has published new guidance aimed at tackling bullying in Welsh schools. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nnew statutory guidance includes a requirement for schools to record all\nbullying and monitor the effectiveness of anti-bullying strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local authorities will also be required to assess the effectiveness of their anti-bullying strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kirsty Williams, Cabinet Minister for Education, said: \u201cWe are committed to ensuring all our learners feel safe, secure and are properly supported to achieve their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\nwant our schools to be inclusive and engaging environments where priority is\nplaced on well-being so that learners feel safe and ready to learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\nis so important that children and young people are taught at home and at school\nabout building respectful relationships and this new guidance will help us achieve\nthat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One in 10 secondary school pupils in Wales are bullied every week according to figures released from the Schools Health Research Network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-525x394.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23954\" width=\"579\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-525x394.jpg 525w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-163x122.jpg 163w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-620x465.jpg 620w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-120x90.jpg 120w, https:\/\/jomec.co.uk\/cjsnews\/wp-content\/uploads\/Linda-James-100x75.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px\" \/><figcaption>Linda James is the founder and CEO of Cardiff based charity Bullies Out who facilitate workshops for school children and adults across Wales and the UK. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>CEO of the Bullies Out charity, Linda James, welcomed the advice from the government but said it is vital authorities&#8217;
