And they are worried about how council plans will affect their future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Cardiff?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Cardiff<\/a> korfball club has launched a petition to stop the council turning part of its Heath Park ground into offices.<br><br>The Cardiff Raptors say they&#39;d be happy to take over running the centre&#39;s facilities themselves. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CardiffTrained?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#CardiffTrained<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/J0f6rRgRUr\">pic.twitter.com\/J0f6rRgRUr<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Cardiff Broadcast (@BroadcastCJS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BroadcastCJS\/status\/1227226138189205504?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 11, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>James Wilcox is the chair of the Korfball club. He says the club had agreed to take over the running of the venue from the council, but now that won&#8217;t be possible. Speaking to CJS News he said &#8220;The council changed their minds and have now decided to pursue a commercial lease for the building instead&#8221; and that they will be converting the changing rooms and storage facilities into offices instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardiff Council say &#8220;There are already offices at Heath Park and they have been there for some time. There is a small changing facility as part of those offices and and to our understanding they haven&#8217;t been booked out for three years on a weekend&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardiff Raptors Korfball say they have an agreement in place where they have free access to the changing rooms, as they pay for the use of council pitches. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/cardiff-council-save-our-local-parks-and-sports-facilities\">The club have launched a petition to save the centre and say they will be bringing this to the council<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/RaptorsKorfball\/status\/1226618810867818499\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Korfball is one the UK&#8217;s fastest growing sports. Its a combination of netball and basketball and played in more than 74 countries.
