Here’s our top pick of London restaurants to cater to the whole family
Eating with kids can be a pain but it doesn’t have to be. The Big Daddy team is well aware of the struggle of wanting to take your kids for food, but not wanting to go to that same pizza place you’ve already been to three times this month.
So we’ve compiled a list of family friendly restaurants that are fun, funky and that make kids feel at home.
All Star Lanes
Location: Bayswater / Brick Lane / Holborn
American food and bowling, all in one place. What better way to keep the kids entertained over lunch than bowling? All kid’s meals are £6.50 and All Star serves burgers, hot dogs, pasta… even a vegan deli meal. If the kids are keen for a bowl, you can purchase a main, dessert, drink and a game of bowling for £17.50.
Cubana
Location: Waterloo / Smithfield
Self described as ‘old cuban’, this restaurant takes influence from Spain, Africa, France and the Caribbean to create their menu. They have a dedicated kid’s menu that offers a main, dessert and drink for £7. Your kids have a selection to choose from including falafel, sesame chicken bites and chocolate mousse.
Bodean’s
Locations: Balham / Clapham / Fulham / Old Street / Soho / Tower Hill / Covent Garden / Muswell Hill
Chicken, ribs and macaroni cheese galore awaits those dining at Bodean’s BBQ. The best part, kids dine free every day from noon until 5pm with any paying adult. Outside of those hours, the meals are just £5 so this is a great place for any daddy on a budget.
Cafe Murano
Location: St James’s / Covent Garden
Treat your kids to smaller portions of Italian classics. Cafe Murano offers two courses and a drink for £10 for your child. Dishes on the menu include sausage ragu rigatoni, tomato and basil pasta and homemade ice cream.
Tom’s Kitchen
Location: Chelsea / Canary Wharf / St Katherine Docks
With dedicated kids menus in all three branches, Tom’s Kitchen is more than ready to accommodate. Your little ones can choose from the likes of boiled egg and soldiers or mini berry pancakes for breakfast; crispy chicken with mash and peas or spaghetti bolognese for mains; and for dessert, strawberry Eton mess or maybe a brownie with malteser ice-cream. It’s just £8.50 for two courses and £2-5 for breakfast. Kids also eat free when adults order the weekend brunch at Tom’s Kitchen Canary Wharf, where there’s also a play room stacked to the rafters with toys and games to keep the kids occupied.
