The Challenge Cup is the main cup competition for professional ice hockey teams in the UK.The Devils have a mixed history in the tournament. They won the cup in 2006 and 2015 but they’ve also lost in the final three times.

This is the first time the final has been held in the Ice Arena Wales.  The IAW was announced as the host venue in August and it’s the first time the match has been held in Cardiff since the single match final format was introduced.  The 3,000 arena opened in 2016 and the match is a sellout.
