The city centre Habitat store which has been left empty for three years could finally be filled by a new restaurant.

Restaurant and pub operators Mitchell and Butlers have applied for planning permission to open a new branch of Miller and Carter, a steakhouse chain at the unit on The Hayes.

The building has been empty since the furniture store chain went into administration in 2011.

If the bid is successful, it would be Miller and Carter’s second branch in Cardiff, in addition to the one at the Red Dragon Centre.
