Wales to be battered by wind and rain

Wales will continue to be battered by high winds and heavy rain over the next few days.

The Met Office has issued a yellow wind warning, with gusts of up to 80mph forecast in the far southwest.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said conditions would not be as bad as they were at the weekend but heavy rain would continue.

“We are expecting further rain along the coast of south and west Wales until Wednesday,” he said.

The Met Office forecast 20 to 30mm of rain in the hills, with 10 to 15mm a more general figure for other areas.
