Made in Cardiff TV’s host Mariclare Carey-Jones has signed up to a charity trek in Costa Rica in aid of Marie Cure Cancer Care.

Mariclare will be taking part in the eight-day trek across Costa Rica next April so the charity can continue caring for people with cancer and other terminal illnesses.

She will trek through pristine rainforests, marvel at exotic wildlife and pass through towering mountains, turquoise-blue lakes, gleaming glaciers and forests.

Speaking about the challenge, Mariclare said: “I’m feeling nervous but excited.

“I’m an ambassador for the charity because of the amazing work it does so I thought this is a great way to raise money and awareness, as well as being a great personal challenge.”
