St Patrick’s Day is notorious for worldwide celebrations and drinking as much Guinness as possible as the Irish at heart observe the day of the patron saint of Ireland.
What began as a religious feast day has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing and drinking.
Traditionally, the day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, and celebrates Irish heritage and culture.
Christians also attend church services throughout the day, and Leten restrictions on eating certain foods and drinking alcohol are lifted for the day, which has encouraged the holiday tradition of drinking on a global scale.
It is widely celebrated by Irish people around the world, especially in Canada, the USA, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain.
So, why not join in the celebrations and paint Cardiff green this St Patrick’s Day with these events.
Starting at 9pm on Greyfriars Road, the evening of Celtic chaos forms a route across eight venues including; The Woodville, Gassy Jacks, Varsity, Pryzm, Glam, Tiger Tiger, Soda and DC.
Those who complete the crawl and reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow are given the opportunity to win a package holiday in Ibiza this summer, if they complete the clues at each venue to solve the St. Patrick’s Day riddle.
Final release tickets are still on sale at £10 per person.
Sample the delights on offer at 10 Feet Tall from 7pm onwards, with an expert on hand with tasting tips, and a selection of Irish dishes and canapés to complement them.
