Man dies in alleged Ely stabbing

SOUTH Wales Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died in Ely after an alleged stabbing yesterday.

Despite treatment from doctors and paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 58 and 37, are being held in custody in Cardiff Bay police station and forensic teams have cordoned off a number of areas in Ely.

Head of operational policing in Cardiff Superintendent Andy Valentine said his detectives were working hard to establish the circumstances leading to the incident.

“Specifically trained officers will be supporting family members at this difficult time and extra patrols continue to reassure the public.”
