Llandaff set for Christmas lights switch-on

LLANDAFF’s High Street will be the stage for the village’s Christmas lights switch-on tomorrow in what promises to be an entertaining evening filled with Welsh talent.

Sue Charles, weather presenter for BBC Wales will be switching on the lights and there will also be performances from Jodi Bird a singer from Barry who reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 and an appearance by The Grinch.

The Cathedral School band and Howell’s school choir will also be playing, guaranteeing it to be an evening full of music.

The event will start from 6.15pm, with the lights being switched on at 7pm. Many of the shops and cafes will be open so that visitors can escape the chill and get a hot drink or do some Christmas gift shopping.

Organisers have also got together with charity Welsh Hearts, who will have bucket collectors at the event. All money collected will go towards funding a defibrillator for the village.

The defibrillator will be presented to the community on the night and placed outside Llandaff Surgery on the High Street.
