S4C still on course for move from Cardiff to Carmarthen

PLANS for the proposed move of S4C’s headquarters from Cardiff to Carmarthen are still on course to go ahead.

National Assembly cabinet minister for Economy and Infrastructure Ken Skates confirmed today that the relocation scheme was still on track to be completed by January 2018.

The Welsh-language broadcaster, currently based in Llanishen, is set to move 55 jobs to a site on the University of Wales Trinity St David’s campus in Carmarthen.

The National Assembly is not funding the move, but is involved in other potential investments on the Canolfan S4C Yr Egin building.

Julie Morgan, AM for Cardiff North, said: “I regret that S4C is leaving. I think it is a mistake.”
