POLICE have called off the search for John Sutton, 81, after they found a body in a field near St Donats.
Mr Sutton, suffering from Alzheimer’s, was seen by his carers and a neighbour on Monday evening, but when the carer returned to his house in Llantwit Major the following morning, it was empty.
Formal identification of the body is yet to take place, however the family of Mr Sutton has been informed.
The multi-agency search for Mr Sutton has been stood down after the discovery at around 4.20pm on Wednesday. The police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance
