Cardiff Co-op has pyjama day for cancer charity

LLANDAFF North Co-op has raised £301 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff came to work in their pyjamas last week for the coffee morning at which they sold home baked goods.

Manager Zoe Selby said: “We’ve had so much support. I’ve always run charity events in every store I’ve worked in and I think Macmillan is a great charity.”

Llandaff North Co-op plays a large role in the wider community and tries to stray from the corporate image often associated with supermarket chains. This is reflected by comments from customers on its Facebook page.

Zoe said it was important for the store to be part of the community and do its share for the people of Llandaff North.

“We want this Co-op to very much be a community store for the people,” said Zoe

“We have held many events for local charities including Autism Puzzles.”

The event was Zoe’s last at Llandaff North, as she is leaving to join the Cowbridge branch. Staff held a farewell party in her honour.
